We placed an online order and went to pick it up, but the experience was disappointing from the start. We waited at the counter while a waitress appeared occupied with her cellphone, and no one greeted or acknowledged us. The food packaging was also poorly handled. The wontons were placed directly in the soup, causing them to become overly soaked and mushy by the time we got home. The spicy sliced beef noodle soup was packaged the same way, with the noodles left in the broth instead of being separated. Most restaurants package soups and noodles separately for takeout to preserve the quality of the food. To make matters worse, we ordered five entrées and were surprised that no steamed rice was included. When we asked for rice, we were told it would cost an additional $1 per bowl. This seemed unusual, especially for a Chinese restaurant where rice is commonly served with entrées. The beef with cumin was extremely spicy and lacked flavor, making it difficult to enjoy. Overall, both the food and service fell far below our expectations. We regret ordering from this restaurant and will not be returning. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience.

This is a truly authentic Chinese food experience and easily one of the best restaurants in Richardson’s Chinatown. The restaurant never disappoints—food quality and portion sizes have remained consistent over the years, and prices are still very reasonable. The traditional Chinese décor inside enhances the authenticity and makes the dining experience even more enjoyable

I ordered homestyle tofu. Clicked this picture after I started having my lunch. The food tasted good, no artificial sauces, just home style. I was wanting to order other items in the menu, they grabbed the menu after serving food, did not have a chance to think about what to order next. No one stopped by after serving food to see if I need anything else. Steamed rice does not come with the entree and I had to pay $1 for the rice and the portion size was ridiculous especially when you pay money. They were very stingy, they keep just one paper napkin per person. The restroom did not smell good. The place was bit decent. They need to take care of the odor. The waiters were busy unstringing beans rather than paying attention to the customers. The menu should have more descriptions like ingredients and pictures of the items. Honestly the food is good, I wanted to order more items but disappointed that no one came after serving food. They assume that I am going to eat just one item.

Royal Sichuan is located in Richardson’s Chinatown, which is super convenient if you're in the area. The food is okay — some dishes are better than others, but nothing really stands out. Unfortunately, the service here leaves a lot to be desired. It’s extremely slow, and the staff feels unorganized and unprofessional. Be prepared to wait quite a while for both ordering and getting your food, even when it’s not busy.

Super great service and speedy preparation. The portions are usually big enough that we always have leftovers. It's BYOB. Would love to come here more often. Would recommend the spicy boiled fish.
